Here at Fusion we’re beginning to tap more into showcasing local artist and talent on our blog. We have now started a new series of interviews called “Meet___”. This is is a way for us to introduce local talent, artists on the rise, and put you on to dope people through out the Florida area. Meet will be a sit down/chit-chat focusing solely on music, creativity, and the artist. If you’re interested on being featured in our new series please send an email to jasfusionandco@gmail.com.

Now Let’s Meet Our First Artist…

Kyron, a music artist with a diverse sound ranging from lively pop to soulful R&B. An Florida native born and raised in Jacksonville, Fl but now residing in the city of Orlando. Kyron is no stranger to the music scene as he comes from a musical family and has been singing and writing music since the age of ten years old. Kyron has been with FusionandCo since March of 2020, while continuously working on his upcoming EP, writing music, and still finding time for his everyday life. Kyron knew he wanted to take over the world and pursue music as a career at a young age. He describes his sound as 'homo pop thug' as he finds inspiration from musical influences like Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, NSYNC, Madonna, and Missy Elliot to name a few. While we anticipate for the EP to drop, I got the chance to sit down with the artist to discuss music & dive deeper into his artistry. Check it out below!

How are you tonight?

K- I am great! I'm so great.

Who is Kyron as an artist?

K- Before everything got shut down, I was going out frequently, going to the theme parks by myself, going to the beaches, traveling. Most of my time consists of writing and being creative. I just feel like if there is time I can make something. Me as an artist I'm very eclectic, I'm influenced by a lot. I love pop music. I love R&B. I love a little punk/pop also like I'm very very eclectic and I think it shows in the style of the way I sing, the way I dress, the way I carry myself. I'm into all of it.

How did you get into making music & taking it more seriously?

K- mmm, I got into it.. well I've been singing since I was 10, and writing songs since I was 10. When I moved out here I knew I wanted to focus on music but my parents weren't supportive of that so I went to school for a year. Then I started looking for a voice coach in 2010, found one, and ever since then I've been taking my craft a lot more seriously. After that, I recorded a demo in 2010 as well, and it wasn't like the best. It was good but wasn't the best it could be and I always remember that, and I built on that. So ever since then, I've been going to different studios, meeting with different people, trying to collaborate, meeting with different artists, seeing what works/ what doesn't work. It’s been 10 years now, I started the journey when I was 20.

How would you describe your sound?

K- My sound is like... it's very eclectic. What I would say it's very pop, R&B, with a hint of maybe like punk in there from time to time depending on how I feel. The overall sound is very what I like to tell Jaffe its very homo thug pop. *laughs*

Who are your music influences? Who did you listen to growing up, who did you love?

K- Growing up I feel like my mom used to play Mariah Carey when I was in the womb because I love her. Mostly Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Tevin Campbell, Madonna, Britney Spears, Nsync, Destiny's Child. The list goes on and on but those are like major ones I've listened to and I've kind of built my sound around it. I also love rap music but mostly female rappers. My favorite female rappers growing up were Lil Kim, Missy Elliot, and Trina. I like hip-hop but I've always liked the female take on it.

What is your creative process like when it comes to making music?

K- It depends, let's say if I'm at work and I hear a melody, I'll stop what I'm doing, take a pen, write something down or record something on my phone. Or sit in my room and smoke something, turn the neon lights on and work. Like it just depends on how I'm feeling and what kind of emotion I'm trying to put out. It's different each time, it's never the same.

What's next for Kyron musically? What can your supporters look forward to?

K- Well I have an EP that is coming up. My end of the music is done, it should be coming out very very soon. Performances, videos, a lot of visuals, a lot of appearances; I want people to like visually see me and I want everything to make sense. You're gonna be seeing a lot of me soon! *laughs*

How has it been working on your craft in this global pandemic?

K- You know, in the beginning when everything got shut down, Jenn actually came to me and asked if I wanted to continue to do this album.. etc. and I feel like that was a test because I could've stopped like a long time ago. I was just like 'no', cause I felt like I haven't done anything. During this time it hasn't been any different. I've been able to focus more and get things done.

Zodiac sign?

K- Oh girl I'm a Libra! Libra to the fullest September 26th.

What is one song heavy in your rotation?

K- Omg, Positions just came out by Ariana Grande. It is so good. Some songs I've been listening to is 'Just like magic', 'Motive' ft. Doja Cat, the song with her and Ty Dolla $ign, 'Safety Net', phenomenal. One song that I really love right now too 'Off the table' ft. The Weeknd.
