I love a good sad yet romantic song attached to a melodic voice. R&B/Neo Soul artist Iruz gave me all of that and more with her new single Definition of Love. This track shares a sense of familiarity when you think of that person who makes you question what love truly is? Everyone has their definition of love and how they feel they should treat their person. Sometimes, you and your person may love differently; and you should never sacrifice your happiness for opposing views on love.

[ Why you always saying you ain't ready

knowing that you keep my heart so steady

tired of waiting for the day that you stop playin

can't wait too long cause I know I deserve more

so what's your definition of love ]

Iruz is a 25-year old musician, from Orlando, Fl but currently residing in the Bay Area. She shares a piece of her heart on this track. Iruz stated that this song was a way for her to get her feelings out and move on from the guy she was with. Releasing Definition of Love was a reminder to herself of what she tolerated before and what she will accept now when it comes to love.

The lyrics started off as a poem inspired by an unhealthy attachment and turned into a beautiful song for the artist. Iruz's soulful vocals flow perfectly with the lo-fi saxophone beat and sampling the great Nat King Cole's "L.O.V.E" on the bridge sealed this as a masterpiece. This is the first song I've ever heard from Iruz, and I can't wait to see what's next from this queen. She gives me Jazmine Sullivan, Ari Lennox, vibes through her sound. Her poetic lyricism is sweet and puts me in a dreamy state of mind. She has me questioning my own outlook on love..

I recommend this track to all the R&B lovers, the ones suffering from heartbreak, and to the ones learning how to love again. Definition of Love is on all streaming platforms! Please give it a listen, and keep up with Iruz and her artistry @Iruzmusic on instagram.
