M3LO Capone Shares Story Behind New Track, “Vindictive” - Milli Bell
For Chicago- based artist M3LO Capone, coming out the trenches of south Englewood has been story of his life. Growing up wasn’t easy for him – he’s experienced losing close friends to being a victim of police brutality. This year, Capone translates his pain and struggles in his latest mixtape, “All Gas, No Breaks”, a collection of tracks that share his story to those who can relate to living through tough, life- changing situations that have been brought upon them.
The rap legend in the making makes it known that he is coming for everything he know he deserves, as he emphasizes on becoming a better person for himself, all while motivating his peers to do the same. Its possible.
In a recent interview, the Chicago native shares with us that going through tough situations for years as a young boy, he’s been able to find a way to translate his thoughts and motions to hardcore street tracks that are relatable to those who know what he’s talking about. His ultimate goal is to get others to relate to his story and be motivated to get out of the trenches and make a name for themselves. Capone tells us, “ I plan to connect with people everywhere and have longevity when it comes to this game, having a career that pays well and will open the doors for other lanes in life.”
Since very young, Capone has believed that he’s got what it takes to be a voice in the streets. The start of his career began on a school bus ride to a field trip when he first took his pen to paper and started to write his own bars. It was and still is considered to be a therapeutic way to release his emotions. From that moment, M3LO discovered his passion for becoming a rap legend in the making. Lyrically, the rising rap star finds an outlet to exercise his versatility as a talented creator within the rap game.
In his latest track, “Vindictive” along with intense visuals, M3LO Capone expresses how it’s now his turn to get back what was taken from him and he’s pretty bold about it, too.
Although he speaks truth and is not one to play with, he passionately expresses that what he’s faced is real. “ I’m really living proof that you can prove the statistics wrong, you can beat the odds with the right intellect, support system, and motivation. There were times I thought it was over for me, getting shot at and being beaten up and harrased by police before body cameras and even now. To be traveling the country making positive progress with my music is a beautiful feeling and the main driving factor of motivation for me. When I feel like giving up I just think of these circumcastances that are back where i call home. A place my people still live in to this day. I have friends who fall victim to gun violece every year where im from this plays a key role in why music plays more than just a theraputic role in my life now. It’s a way out and to stop the chain of these horrific events as well as put my peoples and others in a postion to do something positive with their lives causing the cup of blessings to keep over flowing starting with something I have a passion for.”
