Check out below Brittany Bae's take on R&B, and how she discovered her fascination for music.

Where did your fascination for music begin?

My fascination with music began as a child. Music was heavily played in my household long before I even existed. My father was a singer/songwriter & at the age of 4, my mother enrolled me in dance school which I continued through my teenage years and exposed me to a whole new realm of music. It’s amazing what the vibrations of sounds can do.

How would you describe your sound?

I would describe my sound as a reflection of me. And since I write nearly all of my own music, it basically is! At times it can be soulful, sultry & flares of pop but every now and then I like to get in my bag and talk my ish. My sound is always something that you can feel or relate to in some way shape or form.

What does R&B mean to you?

When I think of R&B, it means music from the heart if a heart could speak. It’s something you can really feel & connect with. It’s a compilation of melodies that make you feel a type of way.

Zodiac sign?

I am a very proud Aquarius

Any advice to local artists/first-time performers?

I’d advise any local artist/first-time performers to be confident & true to themselves. It took me about 10 years to muster the confidence to sing on stage for the first time in front of an audience and I was shook! However, I appeared confident & was true to who I am, and that alone has brought me a long way. It’s also VERY important to practice, practice, practice!

2021, What's next for you as an artist?

What’s next for me as an artist in 2021 is releasing more music, including my very first EP. I look forward to expanding all around as an artist and performing at new locations as well as sharing my passion for the arts with the youth.
