Happy year of execution.
Some of you guys may have noticed that we have not posted or said anything since the Fusion Awards. The truth is we were super overwhelmed with how demanding the Fusion Awards was in 2022, from counting more than 3,000 votes, trying to accommodate 400 people, and dealing with deadlines that we thought we honestly would not make. We spent 3 months at the forefront of everything music related to local artists in Orlando and sometimes it was not great. I am not even going to lie to you, the 2023 Fusion Awards caused me more heartache, depression, and discomfort than anything I have done in the last 3 years.
In the last 7 years that Fusion has been around it has been more than a blessing to me, my team, our roster, the city, our Fusion family, and anyone connected to it. As time passed, I realized something; a lot of people do not understand that we have real humans, with real lives, and real emotions running this company. As the founder of this amazing establishment, I have done my duty to stay true to myself, my core, my values, and the mission behind this business. I am not perfect, and although smart, I am not the smartest person, but I will never quit. Fusion is here to stay, she is here to grow, nurture, elevate, celebrate, and change lives.
As we enter 2023 with more than 25 events on our calendar, understand these things; what we do here is our expression of art, and we care ALOT about the events we produce. We care about every artist we book, we care about our vendors, our partners, our sponsors but we also have every right to not work with anyone who disrespects or unjustly harm the reputation of the company.
Here are some things I have learned over the years that keep me afloat every day.
Stay true to yourself
Keep your word
Know your worth
Learn to stop talking and listen
Your journey is yours alone.
Do everything your heart wishes; do it scared, do it alone, do it until you cannot get it wrong.
