Fusion and Co. will be hosting an event for all of the R&B lovers on February 25, 2021. The I heart R&B concert series will be an event for the grown and sexy to come out and enjoy a night filled with spirits, hookah, vendors, and live music. Seven R&B artists will be gracing the stage and performing their best songs, setting the tone for the evening. One by one, I will introduce a performer on our blog; to get a better feel of the artist and the vibes we will be giving. Let's meet our first performer!

Queen Logic, born Hannah Mariah Ellis; was born in Gainesville, Fl on January 29, 1993. She discovered her passion for music as early as the age of 4yrs old where she attempted her first solo in a mass tent church revival. By joining her middle school band, she grew to write and read music, playing the alto saxophone. The artist got in touch with her total potential while attending Orange Grove Middle Magnet School in Tampa, Fl. Due to divorced parents, Queen Logic found her voice while growing up in West Orlando, where she joined a gospel choir, chorus, and model troupe in high school. After her mother decided to take her out of public school, she continued to showcase her talents by joining and leading the gospel choir at West Oaks Academy in Orlando, Fl. During her time there she met Owen Bryan. They went on to form a rap-singing duo, "Unique Chemistry; leading to many performances and opening acts for Dru Hill, Cupid, Lenny Williams, as well as the legends Earth, Wind, And Fire at an event in Eatonville, Fl titled, "A Taste of Eatonville”. Although the duo ended up splitting, the fire for music burned on, and Queen Logic went on to work with many songwriters and producers in the Orlando area. She even participated in a girl group managed by her father and fellow musician Lloyd Ellis SR. Later on, as an adult, Queen Logic decided to give her all-time dream a marathon run and began to record and network as a local singer. Queen Logic released her debut single, “In Between” as an independent artist with Q on-track entertainment. In 2020 she finished recording her first EP which is anticipated to be dropped any day now.

Be sure to come out and support the Queen herself on stage. Her new single, "In Between," is perfect to vibe too with friends or your boo; and can be found on Spotify. Queen Logic shared with me her thoughts on R&B, her fascination for music, and shared some advice for first-time performers. Check it out below!

Where did your fascination for music begin?

After seeing my first music video by Destiny's Child "Bills."

How would you describe your sound?

Warm and entices the soul.

What does R&B mean to you?

R&B means so much to me. I feel as though the art to woo someone with rhythm and blues has been diluted. Leading to my main purpose to reinvent it as rhythm and vibes; for a more contemporary approach. The goal is to allow my audience to hear and see what they think and feel.

Zodiac sign

Aquarius of course what other sign exist?

Any advice to local artists/first-time performers?

My advice is to never water yourself down and pour out your all on stage.

2021, What's next for you as an artist?

For 2021 what's next for Queen Logic is definitely taking my show on the road to reach a broader audience. I also anticipate dropping my first EP.

Keep up with Queen Logic and her music on Instagram @onlyqueenlogic
